Cooking (& Cleaning) With Grandma & Grandpa.

Who actually eats gingerbread? Sure, you see lots of gingerbread mean and gingerbread houses, but how many people do you know that claim gingerbread as their favorite holiday treat? After all, how great can a food be if it's best known as a building supply?

This year we let Riley make a Rice Krispy gingerbread house. It was a hands-on project, with both Grandma and Grandpa's hands helping, and it turned out well. No baking, minimal preparation, actually good tasting ingredients. It was a winner. Oh, and we found out Riley loves gumdrops. The boy went nuts for them.
As is the case with baking, there was a bit of a mess to clean up. Riley did well with that.
