Navy Pier & The Chicago Children's Museum.

On Thursday we went to downtown to Winter Wonderfest at Navy Pier, which has become an annual Christmas tradition for us. Unlike last year, we didn't take a car and Riley didn't barf (hooray!). Instead we rode the El and then a bus. The bus was full and we had to stand, and I have to give my parents kudos on riding the bus like pros.
They held on to the grips, didn't fall back on anyone and didn't yell any things that tourists may say, i.e. "Wow this is a full bus!" They're very flexible people and I have to thank them for being up for hopping on every form of transportation I present them with.
Riley fell asleep on the ride to Navy Pier so we let him rest a bit as we walked around.

When he woke up he was ready to go and enjoyed going on the big slide and a couple of rides, including the train!

Thursday nights are free admission at the Chicago Children's Museum, which contrary to the name DOES NOT have prehistoric children from Chicago on display. Rather, it's filled with all types of hands-on exhibits for kids, from an archaeology dig to a science lab to a firehouse, which Riley was particularly found of.
At the controls.
At the wheel.
Life in a forest home.
Laying down some sick beats in the music room.
Behind the wheel of some heavy machinery with Mom.
Protective eyewear is a must when constructing structures with a high likelihood of falling down on you. (Pieces did fall off.)
The exit of the museum spits you out into the toy section of the gift shop. Well done, museum architects, well done. We finished our time playing with all sorts of cool toys, especially the stuffed Yo Gabba Gabba characters.
